AIA’s Underwater Division specializes in the design and inspection of marine, foundation and bridge structures. Projects include marine terminals, highway and railroad bridges, retaining walls, building foundations, dry docks, piers, jetties, and wharves. Specific areas of expertise include underwater inspection, bridge inspection, load capacity analysis, pile design, and remediation of marine and bridge structures. The firm’s Professional Engineer-Divers are certified commercial divers and hold various inspection and testing certifications, including ADCI Certification. They possess the specialized ability to properly identify items of importance in an underwater inspection, make recommendations and provide design services for repairs/maintenance. We not only have the required staff, we possess the necessary equipment to perform underwater inspections in poor visibility, high currents, and significant water depths.
