The Regional Maritime University (RMU), Accra, Ghana, is a regional tertiary institution dedicated to the consistent development of human capital in the maritime and allied industry of the West African sub-region and beyond. The RMU occupies the historic premises of the old Ghana Nautical College which was established in 1958 to train ratings for the erstwhile State Shipping Corporation (the Black Star Line). RMU attained full University status on the 25th of October, 2007. Since then, Rmu has expanded its programmes to cover a wide range of fields while still maintaining the flagship maritime related programmes.
