The Hudson Valley Direct Marketing Association was founded in 1988 through the efforts of Jim Haworth, Leon Henry, Hunter Marvel, and others. The HVDMA is an information and networking club for Direct Marketing professionals from Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Its goal is to support the Direct Marketing industry by creating opportunities for professionals to network, to learn, and to contribute to the Direct Marketing community through fundraising and through sharing resources and expertise. In today's rapidly changing industry, HVDMA strives to bring information on new, developing media in addition to helping keep our members updated on developments in more traditional media. We are a non-profit organization, providing a showcase for the Hudson Valley Direct Marketing industry's best practices. We provide quality education through our programming as well as through our affiliation with our primary education partner, the Pace University Interactive and Direct Marketing Lab. This affiliation enables the HVDMA to support newcomers to the industry through a formal scholarship program and exposure to industry leaders. Membership has grown considerably and we count most of the major direct marketing firms in the region as members. In 2013, the HVDMA expanded its offerings to include events that had previously been held by the DMA's Insert Media Council, including the popular annual Roast & Toast luncheon in addition to other luncheon seminars. Companies that participate in the IMC are welcome to join HVDMA and enjoy full member benefits at HVDMA events as well as Insert Media sessions
