The National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) is one of the largest centres of alcohol and other drug research expertise in Australia. NDRI is based at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia. We have a 30-year track record of conducting and disseminating high quality research, the impact of which has been constant and far-reaching. We frequently contribute our expertise to parliamentary inquiries, expert groups, panels and boards. Our research is published widely in peer-reviewed journals and presented at conferences around the world. Through its influence on drug policy and practice, our research is helping individuals, families and the community to lead safer, healthier lives. We are supported by core funding from the Australian Government under the Drug and Alcohol Program and also receive significant funding from Curtin University. Additional competitive funds are attracted from a range of state, national and international funding bodies such as the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Australian Research Council (ARC).
