Some of us have been through the justice system, some of us haven’t. But working together, the Turnaround Project helps people who are serving sentences in Northern Ireland to turn around their futures, and engages the wider community in supporting them on that journey. Using social enterprise, we provide transitional employment opportunities to help reduce barriers to employment. Those opportunities are provided through our two social enterprises: ‘Big Loop Bikes’, a bike repair and refurbishment enterprise, and ‘Outwork’ a grounds maintenance enterprise. Our coaching model helps people plan their new futures, supporting them to identify and build on their strengths. And our volunteering programme is building shared, supportive communities. Working together, we are pursuing our vision of an inclusive community where everyone has hope and opportunity.
