Since starting my company 29 years ago, I have earned significant international exposure for my clients through radio/print media and the enormous industry network I have cultivated over time through my agency, MIXED MEDIA. My approach to promotions, media, and general communications is characterized by fast pace, good organization and typically successful results. I have launched artist careers, increased revenue, and generally helped music, people and businesses get noticed. You name it and, over the years, I’ve done it. I packed bottle caps with blues vinyl, and sent garter belts and subway tokens to promote the work of singer-songwriters. On the festival circuit, Mixed Media has been retained by Falcon Ridge Folk in the Berkshires since 1998, and four years ago I added Rhode Island’s renowned Rhythm & Roots festival to my roster. More recently, I served as Vice President of Media and Distribution for the acclaimed jazz label Whaling City Sound. Since I took over that function five years ago, sales have increased 80% through a distribution deal I initiated with Naxos of America. During this time, in addition to overseeing the radio chart action, PR and social channels for the label, I am responsible for all metadata submission for the years’ releases for digital distribution to all DSP’s. I have been able to secure many 20+ year client relationships as well as maintain an up-to-date, comprehensive industry database in an ever-changing media landscape, from faxing to newspapers, from messaging to blogs/socials, from texting on personal mobiles directly to radio music directors and Spotify curators.
