Distripress Training Foundation

The DistriPress Training Foundation is the non-profit arm of the DistriPress Association. Being an international trade association, we support and promote the global circulation and distribution of press products. As a Foundation, we assist publishers of any size to investigate opportunities to grow their distribution from local to international. If you are an ambitious start-up or developing publisher who is seeking to extend distribution globally, the Foundation can help you access international contacts and resources from experts around the world. To learn more, please email welcome@distripress.org and speak to DistriPress Community Manager, Giselle Ho. The Distripress Training Foundation (DTF) was established in 1970 as the Distripress Training Scheme Committee (TSC). The concept was conceived by Pat Street in his role as Newsstand Director at Newsweek. During his travels in Africa, Asia and Latin America, Pat had identified the need to support press development in these continents. His idea was to encourage the exchange of knowledge and experience between publishers and distributors in less developed regions with their colleagues in more industrialised areas. In 1979, following Pat’s death, it was decided that the TSC would set up a foundation in his honour to continue his work. This was known as The Pat Street Memorial Scholarship Fund. This was duly incorporated in 1981 and remained a training body until 1997 when the decision was made to rename it as the Distripress Training Foundation.
