Hualu Engineering & Technology Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as Hualu, formerly known as the Sixth Design Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry) is an engineering company with Class A Comprehensive Design Qualification for all industries and specialized Class A certificates in specific sectors. The history of Hualu can be traced back to the original Military Engineering Department of Beijing Chemical Design Institute established by the Ministry of Chemical Industry in 1958, based on which the Sixth Design Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry was founded in 1965. The Sixth Design Institute incorporating Shaanxi Chemical Design Institute as it moved to Xi'an in 1985 was restructured according to modern corporate system and renamed as China Hualu Engineering Company in 1996. In April 2003, the company, approved by its parent company, China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation which has a listed company China National Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd. abbreviated as CNCEC, got reformed to Hualu Engineering & Technology Co., Ltd.
