The Risk Management concentration at UTEP’s College of Business Administration is heavily quantitative and includes calculus, probability theory, statistics, finance, economics, and business analytics. Students will be able to build complex Excel spreadsheets, write VBA Excel macros, create statistical and forecast models in SAS and R, manipulate and organize large data sets. Alongside the degree plan, COBA offers the Prudential Risk Management Academy. This Academy is to help students develop leadership skills to set them apart from their peers. Students will also receive business and interpersonal skills that will be developed through executive visits, professional workshops, interactions with other universities both domestic and international. The Academy will ensure professional readiness by offering internship opportunities and real-world employment opportunities for students participating in the program that meet the requirements.
