With 1 in 26 people developing Epilepsy at some point in their lives, The Patrick Ring Foundation's goal is to raise awareness about seizures and the impact seizures can have on an individual and their family. More specifically, The Patrick Ring Foundation hopes to raise awareness of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). Recent studies estimate the rate of SUDEP among adults and children at about one death per 1,000 people with epilepsy per year; however, these numbers are likely much higher as many cases do not get appropriately categorized. The goal is simple: raise awareness of Epilepsy and SUDEP.
