Beijing Energy Network (BEN)'s mission is to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration to understand and tackle China's energy and environmental challenges among individuals and organizations from diverse sectors. These sectors include government, finance, industry, media, advocacy, think tanks, and academia. Since being founded in 2007, we have featured events with startups, social enterprises, multilateral institutes, NGOs, and academia among hundreds of experts and thousands of participants. Roundtable Talk Since 2007, BEN's flagship event has been the Beijing Energy and Environmental Roundtable (BEER), a twice-monthly speaker series featuring expert presentations, panel discussions, workshops, networking activities, and field trips. Reading Group BEN Reading Group meets once a month to discuss energy and environmental policies, reports, and research. Often, the report writer or publishing organization will be in attendance to share insights, put research into context, and provide additional resources. Podcast Environment China is a bilingual podcast featuring conversations with advocates, entrepreneurs, and experts working in the environmental field in China for both Chinese and international audiences. In 2021, BEN is organising a mixture of offline, online and hybrid events. All BEN events are free or low cost and open to all. Events abide by Chatham House rules and take place off the record unless otherwise indicated by the speaker.
