i2a istituto internazionale di architettura is the only Swiss architecture forum south of the Alps. Settled in Ticino since 1983, the institute is dedicated to the study of topics related to territory, environment and contemporary reality. Its objective is to increase the awareness of architecture’s role as an instrument for reading and understanding contemporary phenomena, in a climate of openness and dialog through the organisation of conferences, exhibitions, installations, workshop, performances and didactic activities. All these activities are addressed to both specialists and wide public. Presente in Ticino dal 1983, si dedica allo studio di tematiche legate al territorio, all’ambiente e alla realtà contemporanea. Il suo obiettivo è di accrescere la consapevolezza del ruolo dell’architettura quale strumento di lettura e comprensione dei fenomeni contemporanei. Con un’operazione transdisciplinare, messa in atto attraverso conferenze, dibattiti, installazioni, mostre, pubblicazioni ed attività didattiche, si rivolge ad utenti non soltanto specialistici, eterogenei per età e formazione. Prerogativa di i2a è il networking a più livelli, fra regioni, enti, discipline, utenti.
