www.georgeshinnfoundation.orgThe George Shinn Foundation is dedicated to helping people in need. It is committed to building God's kingdom and reflecting its founder's deep Christian faith by furthering the work of churches, ministries, missionaries, and non-profit organizations. After his diagnosis and successful treatment of prostate cancer, business and leadership entrepreneur George Shinn created the Foundation as a way to extend his resources to others. In 2011, George and his wife, Denise, moved their family and The Foundation to Nashville, Tennessee. Today, Denise Shinn spearheads The George Shinn Foundation's community initiatives and was instrumental in The Foundation's re-launch in 2009. Recent Foundation support has been provided to: - The George Shinn Foundation Clinic: a multi-story urgent care medical clinic near Port-au-Prince, Haiti in partnership with the Amer-Haitian Bon Zami House of Hope school, orphanage, and church complex - Hoops for Homes: a charity to rebuild homes and communities destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Louisiana - The George Shinn Leadership Retreat Center: a 117-acre Tennessee ranch donated by the Shinns to serve as a peaceful retreat for missionaries, ministers, and ministry leaders from around the world to find rest and renewal - Other non-profit initiatives supporting vocational training, homeless care, and youth opportunity Formerly The TruLight Foundation, it was officially renamed in 2009.
