Focus Collegiate provides comprehensive and boundless support to college students with executive skills weakness, anxiety, depression, or learning differences. We are student-centered and student-driven. We emphasize student strengths and give credence to student dreams. We believe that success in college and in life is based on the ability of our students to create and articulate a vision for their future, develop a plan to work towards that vision, and exhibit the openness and flexibility to practice new behaviors that will get them there. Emerging findings in neuroscience reveal that working collaboratively in trust-based, resonant relationships activates parts of the brain associated with openness to new ideas and social orientation to others. Focus Collegiate is the other half of that resonant relationship—which is unique to each student. Our individualized approach improves communication, increases curiosity, and creates the motivation that accelerates intentional sustainable change. The support we provide is not an intervention, but more of a recognition. Students have already achieved some degree of success in order to make it to college. We uncover and build on those successes to increase engagement and achievement on campus and in life.
