The group was formed in November 1983, a time when there was little in terms of foreign investment in China and was certainly a lot harder to live than nowadays. These days you will find that Guangzhou is a sprawling metropolis with familiar brands and international companies doing business, nevertheless it can be daunting upon first arrival and that’s why the Guangzhou Women’s International Club is here! The Guangzhou Women’s International Club (GWIC) promotes social and cultural exchange between the women of the Guangzhou Expatriate Community through meetings, activities and charity contributions in the spirit of mutual understanding and friendship. All activities are non-political and non-profit. Each month we organize morning coffees, afternoon teas, lunches and local trips. Throughout the year numerous expatriate activities and events are held including charity raising, sports, crafts and more. There is something for everyone!
