Austrian Center of Competence for Tribology or AC2T research GmbH (AC²T) located in Wiener Neustadt (Lower Austria) was established in 2002. Since then, AC²T has become one of the worldwide largest research institutions in the field of tribology (friction, wear, lubrication). About 150 employees work in four research areas representing the most relevant fields of tribology: - Sustainable Lubrication - Wear Reduction Strategies for Industry - Friction Optimized Devices - Synaptic Tribology AC²T offers services in research and development in tribology, such as damage analysis, strategies for more efficient maintenance, improvement of facility reliability, support in approvals for new products and processes. AC²T maintains – as central node – a large number of national and international research activities. The transfer of holistic tribology knowledge and professional experience to industry is mainly done by bringing together of companies in partnership R&D projects. Highly qualified personnel and high-end equipment are provided in terms of synergistic and cost-effective “multi-user system“.
