FORASTERO LTDA was created in 2009 as a film production company to make “La Nana” (“The Maid”), winner of the “World Cinema Grand Jury Prize Dramatic” in Sundance 2009 and nominated in the Golden Globe Awards for Best Foreign Film. The film has also received the Golden Satellite Award for Best Foreign Film, a Gotham Award (Breakthrough Performance - Catalina Saavedra), and over thirty awards in several international festivals. The company seeks to continue developing films of high artistic quality, through the exploration of new mechanisms for public and private funding, and by establishing strong co-production relationships within Chile and abroad.
