In 1867 Wilhelm Putsch founded the saw blade factory of the same name in Remscheid. The company initially produced circular saw blades and hand saws for woodworking under the brand name "Hundehütte", one of the oldest registered trademarks in Germany. Today the company produces and sells worldwide jigsaw blades, reciprocating saw blades, hole saws and saw blades for oscillating machines as well as handsaws under the brand WILPU.
