The Queen’s Anniversary Prizes recognise outstanding work by UK colleges and universities that shows excellence and innovation and delivers real benefit to the wider world and the public through education, training and research. Past winners have been recognised in a wide range of disciplines – science, engineering, arts and the creative industries, education, the humanities, the environment and medicine. Direct benefits of the work recognised have been delivered at local, regional, national and international level. The Prizes are the highest national Honour awarded to UK colleges and universities. Prizes are granted by The Queen every two years and since the start of the scheme, over 250 Prizes have been awarded. By agreement with the Palace, the Prizes have been managed by The Royal Anniversary Trust since its establishment in 1992. The Trusts is an independent charity.
