Nestled in the hills of the Southwest Portland neighborhood of Hillsdale, the Hopewell House served the community for 30 years prior to its closure in the fall of 2019. Hopewell House has helped thousands of individuals and their loved ones navigate with grace one of the most profound times in their lives: death and dying. Friends of Hopewell House, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, will reopen the facility in 2022 as the region’s only residential hospice facility. We purchased the property, hired an executive director and volunteer manager, and will add another patient room and upgrade spaces.
