Dunedin and Otago have a cooler climate and comparatively older housing stock than other regions of New Zealand. Many homes are poorly insulated or lack insulation altogether, leading to cold, damp conditions that impact health and wellbeing, and higher energy costs. Cosy Homes allows various groups with a stake in improving Dunedin and Otago homes to work more effectively and achieve greater impact. We provide advocacy at all levels of government, educate community members and institutions on preventing unhealthy housing conditions and fuel poverty, and connect people to existing resources that may help them in their own efforts.
