www.handsandheartsforhorses.comHands and Hearts for Horses (Hands & Hearts), is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Thomasville, Georgia that provides therapeutic horseback riding services to persons over the age of four with disabilities. The riding facility became a reality in 2000 through two visionaries and horse-lovers, Karen and Terrell Singletary; today it brings together horses, children and adults with various levels of disabilities, caring volunteers, and certified instructors. This team works collaboratively with professionals in medical, psychological and educational fields to enrich lives and promote independence. Hands & Hearts is a Premier Certified Center accredited through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH, Intl). The center includes sixteen therapy horses and serves upwards of 90 riders per week from South Georgia and North Florida, including seven self-contained special education classes from local schools. On staff are a director, barn manager, volunteer coordinator, development coordinator, and two part-time weekend feeders. All employees with the exception of the weekend feeders are certified instructors.
