Eastern Light AB
www.easternlight.seEastern Light deploys its own, new, independent cable infrastructure from scratch, including the crucial last mile in-city connections, and provides unbroken fiber all the way from the inside of one data center in one city in one country, to the inside of another data center in a different city in a different country. Eastern Light’s main product is dark fiber and customers are international and national operators, cloud providers, hyperscalers and other types of organizations with special requirements for controlling their own physical fiber routes and particular needs for robust and secure data communication. Eastern Light’s customers lease the number of fiber strands that they need, and then purchase and install their own active equipment of their own choosing in Eastern Light’s own purpose-built telecom buildings along the routes, to create a finished communication service over which they have full control. Eastern Light designs its cable routes to create the most efficient connections between these data centers, whether that means going on land or through water and make use of a variety of different deployment methods, including the deployment of submarine cables at sea and terrestrial cables on land – under city pavements as well as along countryside roads. Eastern Light does not deploy infrastructure connecting end-customers outside of data centers, or from the data centers to the end customers, but is solely focused on the most demanding long-haul stretches between the major data centers. Eastern Light has successfully constructed the first new fiber optic sea cable system between Sweden and Finland in more than a decade. Over the next few years Eastern Light will considerably expand its network in Europe. This is in order to meet the growing demand for international long-haul dark fiber connections in the region. Please visit www.easternlight.se for more information and a network overview.
