The BridgeTech Program is a training and networking program designed for mid-career scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs, IP lawyers, business development professionals and others in the medical technology, biotechnology and medical devices ecosystem who want to bolster their knowledge and connections in the area of medtech commercialisation. EOIs are now open to those who may want to apply for this fully supported program that will run nationally for the first time this year. The program comprises 4 online self-paced training modules, an occasional seminar series that hosts key industry speakers and a 3-day residential workshop that consolidates learning and gives participants the opportunity to create networks with some of the sector’s leading organisations. 100 applicants will be selected to participate in the program. The BridgeTech Program is administered and convened by Queensland University of Technology and involves the input and insight from its consortium members including Flinders University, Siemens Healthcare, Cochlear, University of Newcastle, Hydrix, Magnetica, AusBiotech, LSQ, MTAA and many others. MTPConnect has awarded the BridgeTech Program industry matched funding to support the delivery of this exciting new program. The BridgeTech Program is sister to The Bridge Program which specialises in pharmaceutical commercialisation and has been nationally recognised for its contribution to the sector. The BridgeTech Program is specifically set up as a national, sector-wide program that will benefit a large number of participants and their organisations, particularly those from the SME sector. The program will not only benefit trainees, it will also improve the planning and execution of research & development in their organisations, and the networking opportunities available to them. This will ultimately deliver more advanced and commercially viable leads, better deal opportunities, and higher returns from Australian research.
