He was a Forensic Identification Sergeant for twelve of his thirty years with the Toronto Police Service. He also worked in a Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau, Major Crime Unit, Youth Bureau, and Drug Squad among others. He has a Bachelor of Forensic Identification degree from Laurentian University (2017) and a Bachelor of Arts from York University (1978).
