The purpose of the Council for North American Policy is to foster an understanding of the contemporary political, social, and economic issues confronting the United States, Mexico, and Canada, by increasing public awareness and appreciation of the joint trade potential and cooperation opportunities of North America and the importance of a strong inter-North American relationship. Our goal is to promote greater understanding between the people and to encourage discussion and participation towards the formulation of complex policy decisions in a increasingly prosperous and interdependent, globally competitive region. The Council’s main mission is to promote better understanding of North America—the people, politics, the economy, and business cultures— enabling our citizens to participate more effectively in the region. The Council brings together faculty, students, business leaders, and community members to encourage and support scholarship about North American relations across disciplinary and regional boundaries. Vision To be an effective bridge for increased cooperation, understanding, continued development and increased quality of life in North America.
