Singers in Accord (SIA) is an auditioned, adult, 40-voice mixed female and male voices choral ensemble. As a 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation, Singers in Accord strives to enrich the cultural life of Minnesota communities through outreach, education and innovative performances through its mission of Enriching lives and building community relationships through the power of choral music. SIA is uniquely organized as a singer-led choral ensemble with an all-volunteer chorale and leadership organizational structure. It employs no paid staff members, and all money raised goes to creating, marketing and performing our three annual concerts, including paying the conductors, the collaborating artists and other expenses for each concert. Also, in keeping with our value of giving back and supporting community collaborations, we contribute a portion of the proceeds from our annual concert with JD Steele to a third-party charity, which in 2011 was Partnership Resources, Incorporated. SIA has no permanent artistic director but instead partners with a new conductor, performing artist, or artistic ensemble in each concert to create distinctive concert experiences for its singers and audience members. Founded in 2009, the chorale has performed a broad range of culturally diverse choral music with different conductors for each concert.
