Axis Energy Group Pty Ltd is an Australian renewable energy company commercialising innovative clean energy product solutions. We have developed a novel type of vertical axis turbine that has application in both distributed wind energy and marine energy. Our technology is patented in various countries around the world. Our flagship wind turbine offers a clear competitive edge over existing technology, especially when installed in the built environment: 1. It operates safely, silently and efficiently in turbulent and unsteady flows; 2. It is compact, self-starting, direct drive and do not require yawing; 3. It is modular therefore turbines can be stacked vertically and side by side to provide large power generation capacity per square metre - potentially up to eight times more than a solar PV installation of the same footprint; 4. It is designed to withstand Category 4 hurricanes, requires minimal maintenance and has a lifespan that exceeds 20 years; 5. It is cost competitive, convenient to transport, simple and quick to assemble, and it can easily be relocated if required. Our wind turbine can be used stand-alone or integrated in hybrid micro-grids with solar energy, diesel generators and battery storage. Such micro-grids span a large range of applications that extend beyond the built environment and include backup-power where the grid is unstable, off-grid remote communities and islands, mining facilities, temporary outback projects, defence and emergency relief deployments, etc. We are currently bringing our wind technology to market and will address the marine market in the next phase.
