Founded in 1928, ANDRUS today is a family-centered organization offering an array of innovative programs to help children, families and communities meet their full potential. Serving Westchester County from 14 locations, ANDRUS’ main site is a 110-acre campus in North Yonkers, where the agency offers residential and day treatment for seriously emotionally disturbed children from Westchester and surrounding counties. ANDRUS also operates the Andrus Center for Learning and Innovation and the Sanctuary Institute, which has provided training and consultation to over 350 organizations worldwide in the application of the Sanctuary Model, a trauma-informed approach to treatment and organizational change.
