We envision, design, train, educate, and inspire the world`s premier military medical force to enable readiness and strengthen America`s Army. The MEDCoE is located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. As a major subordinate command of the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), MEDCoE is organized in line with the Army’s other Centers of Excellence. MEDCoE facilitates the integration of functional and branch proponent efforts supporting Army and Army Medical Department Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership, Personnel and Facility (DOTMLPF) capabilities and requirements to improve initial entry training, initial military instruction and education, and mission command. The following are the major organizations that comprise the MEDCoE: The Directorate of Training and Academic Affairs (DoTAA); the 32d Medical Brigade which is comprised of the 232nd Medical Battalion and the 264th Medical Battalion; the Medical Professional Training Brigade which is comprised of the 187th Medical Battalion and the 188th Medical Battalion; the Capability Development and Integration Directorate (CDID), now aligned under Army Futures Command; the Fielded Force Integration Directorate (FFID); the Noncommissioned Officers Academy (NCOA); the Army Medical Department Personnel Proponent Directorate (APPD); and the Army Medical Department Board.
