Vista Packaging and Logistics

Vista Packaging and Logistics was founded in 1985 by Jay Cahall in Columbus, Ohio. Cahall felt there was a growing need for a third-party company that could provide light manufacturers with cost-effective packaging products and services. Aided by his wife, Martha, and, eventually by his three sons, the former packaging supply salesman started the company, then known as Vista Industrial Packaging, in the family home. As the couple worked to grow their young company, it also expanded into its next home: a 10,000-square foot facility to serve the needs of a grand total of two clients. By 1996, the business had 25 associates in two locations, Columbus and Cincinnati. That same year, Jay Cahall passed away, and the responsibility of running the growing company — and keeping 25 people employed — fell on Martha and her boys. They decided to continue running the operation for one year, after which they would decide whether to stay in business. Today, Martha Cahall is president and CEO of Vista Packaging and Logistics, which has served more than 100 customers in more than 700,000 square feet of warehouse space, offering significant capabilities in contract packaging design, production, warehousing and transportation.
