The New York State Osteopathic Medical Society is the only professional society in the state that represents the interests of osteopathic physicians. The organization continues to change and offer advanced membership services. MISSION The mission of the New York State Osteopathic Medical Society (NYSOMS) is to foster individual and public health though the art, science, philosophy and practice of osteopathic medicine. VISION NYSOMS strives to fulfill its mission by advocating on behalf of all osteopathic physicians in New York State; disseminating information that is beneficial to osteopathic physicians and students, as well as to the public; providing continuing medical education programs for its members; and striving to ensure that professional standards are maintained and patient-physician relationships are enhanced.
