Network Rail (High Speed) looks after the country's only high speed line, HS1, under contract to HS1 Ltd. We carry out operations and maintenance activities along the route from the channel tunnel to St Pancras, as well as the three stations, St Pancras International, Stratford International and Ebbsfleet International. We are contracted to HS1 to operate, maintain and manage both the line of route and stations and also to provide engineering support. As a subsidiary company we have our own Safety Authorisation and, as HS1 is not in the Railway Group, have a bespoke set of standards, including a unique PTS. Our contract is based on five-year control periods for which our price is fixed. The fixed term runs until March 2020 at which point a new fixed price is agreed that needs to meet the ORR's economic and efficient test.
