OVERVIEW: Since 1996, Yerin has been providing primary health care to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community on the Central Coast of NSW. Yerin is a community controlled Aboriginal Health Service and provides health care services in a culturally safe environment. Yerin provides a comprehensive and culturally appropriate primary care service through the Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Health Centre (EDAHC) at Wyong (6 days a week) and at Gosford Hospital (Nunyara Aboriginal Health unit) – 2 days a week (Tuesday and Thursday). The services are integrated with the dental service and a range of targeted community and family-based programs to improve the health and quality of life for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our community. Yerin Aboriginal Health Services’ highly trained, professional staff has been providing heath care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on the Central Coast for more than 20 years.
