CMEology develops cutting edge educational activities designed to engage the learner, and enhance retention. Our ultimate goal is to improve patient outcomes. We partner with leading academic institutions to develop certified, relevant education. The activities that we develop are designed to close identified educational gaps, increase competency, improve performance, and influence behavior. Our activities address education through a comparison of the current practices of healthcare providers and the best available standards of practice. The educational gaps start with an identified problem in clinical practice. The gap may be due to a lack of knowledge or lack of a strategy about how to implement something new or different in practice. Our goal is to address identified gaps and overcome barriers. Metrics define the efficacy of a CME activity and CMEology applies the outcomes model updated in 2009 as described by Moore, Green, and Gallis.(1) Our model may include pre- and post-tests and questions regarding commitment to change. We may also utilize case vignettes that present patient-based scenarios that require clinicians to synthesize the knowledge obtained from the educational activity. Moore DE Jr, Green JS, Gallis HA. Achieving desired results and improved outcomes: integrating planning and assessment throughout learning activities. J Contin Educ Health Prof. 2009;29:1-15.
