Parkway Partners believes that the health and vitality of New Orleans is reflected in its landscape. The organization empowers volunteer driven projects that support: ***ReLeaf New Orleans -- Tree planting program following the catastrophic loss of the tree canopy after Hurricane Katrina's flooding. ***Neutral Ground Adoptions -- Volunteers and businesses maintain spaces and receive personal signage that encourages more to participate. ***Urban Gardens -- 45 Community Gardens, Urban Farms and Orchards are supported through Parkway Partners, restoring blighted lots to food production. ***Monthly 2nd Saturday programs support horticultural education with guest speakers and associated plant sales. ***Schoolyard Gardens -- support the school curriculum at 11 public schools in New Orleans. At NOCCA the emphasis is on culinary arts while in elementary schools the emphasis is on science and math support.
