We are a voluntary democratic membership organisation of Muslim healthcare professionals in the UK. Our vision is to unite, inspire and serve our patients and professions. BIMA has six objectives: 1) To promote better understanding and appreciation of principles and values of Islam amongst all healthcare professionals 2) To protect and promote the health of patients and the public by adhering to fundamentals of Islamic bioethics and good clinical practice 3) To encourage professional and social interaction among Muslim healthcare professionals and with wider medical community in the UK 4) To promote research and education in the field of medicine, Islamic medical history and Islamic bioethics 5) To engage our professional skills in charitable activities locally and globally to help the needy irrespective of colour, creed or faith. 6) To advise & support Muslim healthcare professionals and students in career development, orientation and other work related issues What Makes Us Unique? - BIMA holds Islamic values at its core - BIMA is an independent, not-for-profit, democratic grassroots organisation, lead by its members - BIMA is for all Muslim healthcare professionals in the UK irrespective of ethnicity, grade, profession, specialty and location - BIMA hopes to unite Muslim healthcare professionals to feel part of one community, with an access to a wide range of services
