Upstream Investigations is Australia's first private investigation agency helping victims and misidentified offenders of Family and Domestic Violence identify the issues and concerns within their abusive relationship, gather evidence and find alternative pathways to safety. We have specialist and intimate knowledge of the systemic and cultural foundations within the FDV sector and guide victims through the process, advocating for the outcomes that reduce the impact of trauma. We understand the impact of DFV on community and the intersections with mental health, alcohol and drug use as well as homelessness and housing. We work within a network of trauma practitioners and legal experts documenting situations and identifying the concerns to understand the real time risk of violence. We use this conversation to embed education and awareness in Domestic and Family Violence and collaborate to implement self regulation strategies and emergency management plan to respond to situations that present as a risk or harmful to individuals. Our service extracts the information from clients through a objective and non judgemental process. We prepare communication that assists in the process of making considered decisions when applying for protection as well as representation of the truth across civil, criminal and family jurisdictions. We investigate through a well being lens and collaborate with holistic partners who consider the rights and responsibilities of our clients as a priority. We encourage and support reform for greater protection for victims and more accountability for perpetrators that focus on prevention and education.
