Inside Out was founded in October of 1998. Inside Out is a nonprofit organization located in Springfield, Ohio. Inside Out operates a Community center, located in the former Keifer Junior High School, which is now owned by Inside Out. Each day free hot meals are provided to area children and youth, as well as a safe alternative to the streets where kids can play basketball, participate in other physical activities, tutoring. mentoring, and character-building lessons. Inside Out also provides free meals to local children at Springfield's low-income housing projects through their summer food service, and provides thousands of pounds of food donations to local families through various local partnerships. Decent affordable housing is also provided to many families through the affiliate organization Inside Out Youth Homes Inc.
