Girls on the Run of the Bay Area inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness. GOTR of the Bay Area has served over 17,000 girls since 2002 providing high quality, life defining experiences, where our girls feel safe, heard and valued. There are no other national girl-focused, physical activity-based, positive youth development programs in the country. Girls on the Run is an international organization with over 214 councils across the country and Canada and is the largest 5k event in the world!
