Career Gappers is a new blog that inspires and equips people to take travel career breaks by providing first-hand insights and world-class resources. More and more people in the millennial generation are choosing to take time out of their careers to travel. At the same time, we know that many are still held back by the same old obstacles. What about your career when you come back? Won’t it be impossible to get a job? Shouldn’t you be spending this money on a house? We’re here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be this way. The way we live our lives is changing. We want to send a message that in today’s world, travel can actually be amazing for your career prospects. What we do We are a 30-something couple who saved for years to take a one-year career break and travel the world. Through Career Gappers we share our secrets about how we did it, including saving, planning, budgeting, and managing our careers in the meantime. We advise on the practicalities of taking a career break. When is the right time to discuss it with your boss? How do you negotiate a sabbatical contract? What will it mean for your relationships at home? We’ve been through all of this, and we hope our story can help people overcome the familiar barriers. Finally, we also help people build amazing travel itineraries by sharing our experiences from the places we have visited. Between us we have visited over 50 countries across six of the world’s continents. Our audience We want to create a world where people are empowered to take a travel break at any stage of their career.
