The Religious Coalition for Community Renewal, established in 1987, is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization in Charleston, West Virginia. The RCCR is a membership organization with over 30 religious interfaith congregations making up its membership. The RCCR is supported by an all volunteer board, and receives its funding from its members, individuals, businesses, state, local and federal government, foundations, and trusts. RCCR offers three programs to the community: 1) Home Ownership and Counseling – This program encourages and supports affordable, safe, and well maintained home ownership. Housing services include home buying and ownership education, budget and credit counseling, foreclosure prevention, reverse mortgage counseling, housing development, and low interest loans for home repairs. 2) Homeless Transitional Housing (Samaritan Inn) - The Samaritan Inn is HUD-approved transitional housing for homeless adult males. It provides residential living and supportive services for up to 12 homeless adult men at a time. The Samaritan Inn provides services that permanently change the lives of men who have been homeless. Rental Housing (Smith Street Station) – Smith Street Station is a 29 unit furnished apartment facility for one- and two-person families with an on-site resident manager. A diverse group of low income residents make up the community of this complex. The Station offers referrals to social services as needed, and crisis intervention.
