The National Center for Race Amity (NCRA) was founded on the vision that race amity as a platform for social action would lead to realization of America’s seal, E Pluribus Unum, out of many one. Our mission is to influence the public discourse on race by acquainting the populace with the good in us released through cross-racial friendships, race amity. The primary challenge is to move the public discourse on race from its present blame-grievance-rejection cycle to one of amity, conciliation, equity, and social justice. The goal then is to meet this challenge. The NCRA was established in January 2010 in Boston, Massachusetts and has developed programs and activities that have effectively informed and educated the public on amity’s power to advance access, equity, and social justice at local, state, and national levels. This work has focused on the dynamic of cross-racial collaboration to effect lasting change in American social justice. To demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach, this "other tradition" of race amity, which contrasts the tradition of racism, NCRA has developed programs in the arts, education and social action.
