There is a 3:2 ratio of men and women in Computer Science courses in India and yet only a handful of these women participate in technical events, conferences, hackathons, etc. Statistics say, that men comprise of more than 85 percent of the participations at such events. Moreover, just 5 percent of the leadership positions in the technology industry are held by women. Why are women still in minority when it comes to competitive environments? XXCode is a community that aims to bridge this gender gap in technology by building a community of women developers who are waiting for a little push into the right direction. This is not a mentorship program. This is a community where women help each other out by aiming to #ChangeTheRatio in technology. What are we actually doing? In the coming months, we have plans to conduct coding activities for programmers, design competitions for designers, technical discussion sessions, hands on sessions, hackathons and much much more.
