UWC Robert Bosch College

As part of the United World College (UWC) movement, UWC Robert Bosch College is home to 200 young adults from over 90 countries, who live and study on our campus in Freiburg for two years. In class and by living in an international and diverse community, they learn that positive change is possible – through open and honest discourse and courageous actions. Founded in 2014, UWC Robert Bosch College is one of the youngest UWC schools worldwide. As with the already existing colleges in Europe, Asia, Africa and America, our school is based on diversity: we welcome students from a deliberately diverse range of backgrounds and experiences – a cross section of socio-economic backgrounds, cultures, religions and nationalities. During their two years at UWC, students are confronted with central issues of humanity: intercultural understanding, peace and sustainable development. Kurt Hahn made these the core elements of UWC education when he founded UWC in 1962. UWC Robert Bosch College is designed to host 200 students in total, 100 students per year-group. Of these, 50 places are awarded to German and 150 places to international students. Any student who needs financial support receives a scholarship – currently, 70% of the students at UWC Robert Bosch College receive a full stipend and 30% receive a partial stipend. Since its foundation, the College also reserves at least four scholarships to young refugees living in Germany.
