Lausen's Bail Bond Agency, located at 979 Highway 3185, Thibodaux, LA is a locally owned family business that is supported by Financial Casualty & Surety, Inc. (FCS), the largest surety insurance agency in the United States. Having the backing of FCS has allowed the agency to sell individual specialized services in excess of $22 million as a producer. The Louisiana Department of Insurance (DOI) is the primary state agency that is responsible for regulating the surety insurance business within the state, and requires all producer agents to be properly licensed within the State of Louisiana. Lausen's Bail Bond service began operations in 2006 as a sole proprietor with Michael Lausen and then transferred to Leslie Lausen under Lausen’s Bail Bonds (DBA) in 2007. Since inception the organization has been a service provider for the community of Lafourche and Terrebonne Parish. Lausen’s Bail Bonds has written over $22.3 million in surety bonds since operations began with a cash collection of over $2.66 million. The agency currently averages over 249 customers each year, and over $2.79 million in surety insurance contracts are written annually. With over 2000 active clients being serviced by the agency as of September 2014, combined with the growth expectancy that will be correlated to the voter approved 2014 tax for the expansion of the Lafourche Parish Detention center, the services of the agency is projected to grow by a minimum of 15% (28 additional customers per year, or $48,750) with little to know additional advertising. As of June 2015 Lausen's Bail Bonds has begun offering services to Assumption parish with a plans to open offices in East Baton Rouge, and St. Charles Parishes by 2016.
