Martineau Gardens is a beautiful therapeutic community garden in Edgbaston, Birmingham. Two and a half-acres of organically managed landscape open to the public to visit, for free, Monday to Saturday, 10am until 4pm. Our Therapeutic Community Garden is looked after by volunteers, many of whom have mental health issues or learning disabilities. Hundreds of school children visit the Gardens to learn about science and the environment. Every year,Birmingham people (now in their thousands) visit the Gardens to enjoy its peace and tranquility. We host events and courses and sell plants and produce. There are formal gardens, an orchard, a bird hide, ponds, vegetable beds, and an ever changing array of scenery to explore. We provide a haven for wildlife, (our woodland has SLINC status) and are a charity and a social enterprise.
