The Initiative for Leadership and Sustainability (IFLAS) was founded in 2012 by the University of Cumbria to promote understanding and action on matters of leadership and sustainable development. It teaches thousands of mature students from 100s of countries, conducts interdisciplinary research with international reach, and stimulates professional dialogue on its key themes. It is now known for its combination of experiential and critical approaches to leadership development, including the use of the outdoors and site visits in its education.
