The Bhawanipur Educational Society College was founded in 1966 with the motto “Education For Excellence” through the Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society. Accredited by NAAC and Affiliated to the University of Calcutta, BESC was created under article 30 (1) of the Indian constitution, which guarantees linguistic minorities, such as the Gujarati speaking community in Calcutta, the right to establish and administer educational institutions of their choice. In 1966, we started with less than a hundred students, but in the decades since, BESC has strived to provide an excellent education to a truly diverse student body, admitting eligible pupils regardless of linguistic, religious or regional background. Shaping Careers. BESC offers a number of undergraduate honours programs in Arts, Commerce, Management and Science along with post graduate courses in English and Commerce. BESC also runs Career Oriented Courses like; Commerce+, ACCA, CFP, Corporate Communication, Capital Market, Cyber Security and Global Management Skills, that takes students beyond the rigid framework of the syllabus, along with running 18 Knowledge circles ranging from dance, music to entrepreneurship, MUN, AISEC, CII-Yuva, Leadership training etc. for complete holistic development. Campus Experience BESC boasts of a wifi enabled, temperature controlled state of the art campus with smart classrooms, a 5000 Sq. ft. college library, a virtual storehouse of knowledge; an indoor sports arena that offers a plethora of gaming facilities; an artificially-turfed central court, multiple auditoriums and a friendly canteen. Students are exposed to a well-planned academic calendar complemented with more than 200 multifarious activities during a year starting from workshops, seminars, research work, industrial visits, historical walks, fests, culminating with social awareness.
