Tropic Construction Corporation was created in 1993 as an important step for Hispanic Housing Development Corporation (HHDC); allowing greater control over the construction process, providing a vehicle to increase the business of minority contractors, and creating employment and training opportunities for neighborhood residents. By implementing the cost estimating, construction management, and subcontractor selection process in- house, Tropic ensures that developments come in on time, within budget, and are affordable years ahead of actual execution. Established and organized as a for-profit venture to serve HHDC as an in-house contractor and construction manager, Tropic Construction has grown in size and scope. All totaled, Tropic’s staff brings over 100 years of combined experience in residential and commercial construction and now also builds projects for outside private and public clients.
